From singing in township pubs to commanding stages alongside South Africa’s biggest stars, Snowflake real name Mokganyetsi Felicia is proving that big dreams can rise from humble beginnings.
Raised in Pretoria Central and now based in Polokwane, Snowflake’s journey into music began not in glamorous studios but in everyday spaces: local pubs, bottle stores, community events, and neighborhood pools.
She started at local pubs and performing for young kids at Allys Town Pools and around Solomonadale. What happened next still surprises her, after releasing her first single Maphodisa, she got interviewed within just two weeks. It all happened so fast.
That early buzz marked the beginning of a fast-moving career that’s seen her perform at respected venues and earn admiration from major industry players. One of her breakout moments came during a live performance at Thobela FM, which caught the attention of Polokwane’s Executive Mayor.
“He felt the energy I brought and personally invited me to perform at Peter Mokaba Stadium,”
she says.
“They gave me a platform to show what I’m truly capable of.”
Snowflake has since shared stages with some of the biggest names in South African music Master KG, Makhadzi, Prince Benza, King Monada, Fifi Cooper, and Pabi Cooper. Her performances have electrified venues such as Propaganda, Europa, Cricket Club, and stadiums across Polokwane.
Her influence now extends far beyond South Africa.
People from Botswana, Mozambique, Kenya, Namibia, Uganda, Swaziland, and Lesotho are now following her journey.
Snowflake’s signature is versatility and sincerity.
“I do all genres,”
she says.
“Whether it’s Afrobeat, amapiano, R&B, or soul I adapt, connect, and give my all.”
And fans won’t have to wait long for more music. Snowflake is set to release her new single, “Power,” next week Friday on the 7th of June 2025 a bold new chapter in her musical evolution.
With authenticity at her core and momentum on her side, Snowflake is not just an artist to watch she’s becoming a voice of her generation.
